Andreas writes about his mentally handicapped brother

Hello people,

my name is Andreas I’ve had a job for several years and I would like to tell you something about my brother.

My brother is handicapped and 20 years old. For nearly eight years he has been living in a home for mentally handicapped people. The home has got a church, a gym, a school and a workshop. My brother lives in a group together with about twelve people at the age of ten to twenty-two years. Four of them live in a big room. When I take home my brother for the weekend every third week or for the summer holidays, all the people in the home say hello to me. I can’t really describe what it’s like, you must go there and see it. The children are very happy and their eyes are bright.

They are equally happy when my brother is back. When I’m back home, I’m unhappy. Now there is a deadly silence at home and I would be very happy if he was still at home. It’s nice that I have this brother.

I would like to tell you about my brother, because it is me very important for me.
